China has been promoting the application of electric vehicles since 2009, and it has been more than seven years. With the rapid increase in the number of new energy vehicles in China in recent years, power batteries have begun to enter a large-scale retirement period. Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Interim Measures for the Management of Recycling and Utilization of New Energy Vehicles" Power Battery". Since then, the General Office of the State Council has issued the "Proposal for the Implementation of the Extended Producer Responsibility System" (hereinafter referred to as the "Program") to promote green manufacturing and protect the ecological environment. Among them, specific requirements are imposed on automobile production and power battery recycling.

At present, China has a nickel-hydrogen battery and lithium battery recycling enterprise with strong technical capabilities and high environmental protection level. Some of them have carried out a lot of work on the dismantling and recycling of automobile power batteries, and accumulated practical experience. At the same time, in order to adapt to the market demand brought by large-scale promotion of new energy vehicles, some research institutes are actively carrying out power battery recycling. Use process research and joint ventures to conduct commercial exploration.

Second, the power battery recycling industry market forecast:

The scene of power battery recycling comes from the promotion of new energy vehicles. The market plate depends on the overall situation of new energy vehicles. According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the output of new energy vehicles reached 340,500 units in 2015, with sales of 331,100 units, an increase of 3.3 times and 3.4 times respectively. In 2016, China"s new energy vehicle sales reached 507,000 units, an increase of more than 50% year-on-year. Among them, sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 329,000 units. The sales volume of new energy vehicles in China accounted for 1.8% of the total auto market, and the number of possessions was close to 1 million.

China"s new energy vehicles have maintained the number one position in the world in terms of sales volume, sales volume, and possession. At the same time, according to China"s electric vehicle charging infrastructure promotion alliance statistics, the number of public charging piles in China is close to 150,000. Compared with the 49,000 at the end of 2015, China has become the most developed charging infrastructure. The country with the fastest and largest quantity.

It is estimated that the sales volume of new energy vehicles in China will reach 800,000 in 2017, and the proportion of passenger car sales will increase from 65% last year to around 70%.

With the development of new energy vehicles, the demand for vehicles and the amount of scrapped batteries will increase. It is estimated that by 2020, the cumulative scrap of China"s automotive power batteries will reach 200,000 tons.
